There are many reasons for back pain.
While a few of them are clear, there are others that simply remain unseen.

Easy pursuits like sitting, walking or perhaps sleeping when not performed in the correct demeanour can end up in back pain.
The activity that may most easily attribute to back trouble is walking.
Where on one hand, walking can provide relief from back pain, on the other hand walking with wrong posture can irritate the discomfort.
You should be careful about the posture you maintain while walking. Also, avoid slouching shoulders when you walk.
Walk with head high and do not even think of looking down.
Furthermore, walk at your standard pace and it would be better if you take smaller steps.
This way, you will not exert your back and simply avert sciatic discomfort.
Now let us move on to your sitting style.
It is important that you do not sit in a single posture for a particularly long time.
If your job is such you are required to sit in the same posture for hours, you need to take short brakes in between.
In these breaks, you can stretch your body and practice stretches for sciatic discomfort alleviation too.
While sitting, be cautious that you sit straight and not in a crooked position.
The theorem is to keep your spine straight and shoulders wide.
It will be good if it was possible for you to get a chair with lumbar region support.
Even sleeping in wrong posture can pose a great problem to the patients of sciatica and other back trouble issues.
So, it becomes crucial that you purposely sleep in a right posture to avoid backache.
The ideal way to sleep is with your arms parallel to your body.
In case you like to sleep on the side, bend your knees a bit and sleep.
With the postures, check if you sleep on the right mattress or not.
The right mattress is the one which is neither too hard nor too soft.
If the mattress is too hard, it will probably cause discomfort to your back.
But for a soft mattress, it is known to spoil your posture as you have a tendency to sink in to it.
Another primary cause of sciatic pain or any other sort of back stiffness is lifting.
Has it ever occurred with you that you tried to lift something and felt a small jerk?
If yes, then probably you must have utilised the wrong lifting system.
You have to be wary while lifting objects.
Fundamentally, you are required to bend your knees while lifting any object.
Bending in back is a firm no-no.
Besides, use both the hands to lift objects.
This essentially distributes the weight.
Hence take care while doing day to day chores and let your back stay in healthy form.
